Pokken Tournament Set To Arrive For WiiU In 2016

Oh boy, oh boy. Who wasn’t waiting for this announcement to be made by Nintendo? Nintendo has finally announced that it is going to release the critically acclaimed Pokken Tournament for the Wii U platform in 2016. The month and date haven’t been clearly specified by Nintendo but is rumored to come in Q1 2016 and it is one for the enthusiasts.

Rumours are that the game is also going to be featured in The Pokemon Championships next year in 2016 for the WiiU platform.

You can also see that while the gameplay is being displayed it says that it is from the arcade version and it may differ from the original version. Various Pokemon, including Mega Blaziken, Gardevoir, Mega Lucario, Gengar and all-time favourite Charizard can be seen in action. Another Pikachu namely Libre Pikachu is also shown with in-ring action.


The game currently holds Charizard, Pikachu, Gengar, Machamp, Gardevoir, Suicune, Lucario and Weavile as playable Pokemon with Blaziken joining the party in the August update. Pokemon like Fennekin, Emolga, Snivy, Lapras, Whimsicott, Jirachi and Frogadier have been confirmed as support characters.

What’s Pokken Tournament?

Pokken Tournament is fighting game developed by Bandai Namco games in collaboration with Nintendo based on Pokemon battles.

It is somewhat similar to Tekken but has Pokemon fighting in place of the humans.
